Roman Reigns defended his title but Drew McIntyre lost his, during a night that saw both the stars ending it on a sad note. 2021 WWE Royal Rumble victor Edge declared his WrestleMania rival by hammering a shocking spear into Roman Reigns and pointing towards the WrestleMania logo. Here are the results from the WWE Elimination Chamber 2021.

Fatal 4 Way – #1 contender for the WWE United States Championship

The event kick started with a fatal 4 way between Elias, Ricochet, Mustafa Ali and John Morrison, the winner of which would replace Keith Lee in the United States Championship match. John Morrison almost tasted triumph after a Moonlight Drive on Ricochet, only for Ricochet to later sidestep a Starship Pain and land a 450 splash on Ali, only for the Retribution to meddle for their chief’s benefit. Attempting to take them all out with a tope con giro, Ricochet was caught by Mace and T-Bar and battered into the steel post. With Ali distracted by Retribution, Morrison took advantage by taking a pin all of a sudden and grabbed the opportunity to become United States Champion.

Triple Threat – United States Championship

Bobby Lashley had to defend his United States Championship belt in a three-way battle between himself, Riddle and John Morrison. Lashley dominated the battle by displaying his strength and power, and while Morrison had some great moments that wowed us, he played the sacrificial lamb after having wrestled earlier in the night. Riddle made his big move by attacking Lashley with MVP’s Crutches and while Lashley was outside the ring, Riddle played out the Bro-Derek on Morrison to clinch the title.

Women’s Tag Team Championship

Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler defended the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Royal Rumble winner Bianca Belair and SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks. Reginald went to the ring and gave a champagne bottle to Banks for her to use as a weapon while the referee was occupied. This backfired however, and while Banks was sidetracked by Reginald, Nia Jax executed a Samoan Drop on the SmackDown Champion to retain the title.

SmackDown Elimination Chamber – #1 contender for the WWE Universal Championship

SmackDown’s Elimination Chamber match between Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, Jey Uso, Kevin Owens, King Corbin, and Sami Zayn was a fantastic clash, with the victor rewarded with an immediate Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns. Bryan and Cesaro started the match with Corbin coming in at #3, followed by Zayn. Owens entered fifth and Jey Uso entered last. Cesaro eliminated Corbin with a Sharpshooter before Owens eliminated Zayn with a Stunner. Later, Jey latched onto Owens’ arm in a chamber door and used various Superkicks before eliminating Owens with a Superfly Splash. After a to-and-fro fight between Bryan and Cesaro, Jey eliminated Cesaro and eventually, Bryan countered Jey Uso with the Running Knee to win what was arguably one of the best encounters in a while.

Universal Championship

Right after the SmackDown Elimination Chamber, the winner Daniel Bryan had a shot at the Universal Championship in a match against Roman Reigns. Bryan applied the Yes Lock on Reigns, who got away using a number of lower arm crushes. The Tribal Chief then applied the Guillotine Choke on Bryan, who passed out, which meant that Roman Reigns had successfully defended his title.

Following the match though, the 2021 Men’s Royal Rumble match winner Edge showed up and inflicted damage with a Spear on Reigns. The R-Rated star then pointed at the WrestleMania sign, implying that he had decided to challenge Reigns for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37, which was later confirmed.

Raw Elimination Chamber – WWE Championship

Drew McIntyre defended his WWE Championship against Jeff Hardy, Kofi Kingston, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and Sheamus in Raw’s Elimination Chamber match. Orton and Hardy started the match with the Champion entering at #3 followed by Kofi Kingston. Kingston produced a roll up to eliminate the Viper after which he got furious and played out the RKO on Hardy and Kingston before leaving the ring. Omos who was accompanying Styles ringside, helped him brake out of his cell and prompted WWE official Adam Pearce to come rushing out and ask Omos to leave. Sheamus was the last to enter the match and eliminated Kingston with a vicious Brogue Kick. After Hardy exacted the Swanton Bomb on Styles, McIntyre ended things for Jeff Hardy with a Claymore Kick. Styles eliminated Sheamus after a Phenomenal Forearm and then gave us another Phenomenal Forearm on McIntyre, only for McIntyre to get Styles in mid-air with a Claymore Kick and defend his WWE title.

After the match, as the Chamber was being lifted over the ring though, Bobby Lashley appeared onto the stage and speared McIntyre, kept attacking him and even applied a Hurt Locker on him. The Miz, then ran towards the ring to cash in his Money in the Bank Contract and then performed his finishing move – the Skull Crushing Finale on Drew McIntyre to win the WWE Championship title for the second time in his career. This also meant that The Miz became the first evert two-time Grand Slam Champion in the history of the sport.
