The WWE is set for its next PPV event, WrestleMania Backlash which is basically a follow-up to the more significant, WrestleMania, with a stellar line up of matches.
Backlash is set to take centre stage on May 16th and will take place in the WWE Thunderdome at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida and it sure has some interesting fights lined up for fans across the globe. Here are five matches that we think you cannot miss:
5. Bianca Belair VS Bayley

Bianca Belair’s journey in becoming the Women’s Smackdown Champion is just unforgettable. After clinching the title at WrestleMania, we could see how much it meant to her but it’s time to defend it now. The entire storyline for this match-up is based on Bayley openly laughing and mocking Bianca, making it clear that Bayley doesn’t think that Bianca Belair deserves to be a WWE Champion and therefore would do anything to reclaim the title, which she once defended for 380 days.
4. Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode VS Rey Mysterio & Dominic Mysterio

Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode a.k.a “The Dirty Dawgs” were crowned tag team champions early in 2021. The two champs don’t get along as much as they should though, as they have completely different solo careers. The two will have to defend the new, exciting father-son duo of the WWE universe, Rey Mysterio and his son Dominic Mysterio. If the Mysterio’s manage to win against the Dirty Dawgs, they would become the first-ever Father-Son duo to win the tag team championship in WWE history.
3. Rhea Ripley VS Asuka VS Charlotte Flair

After defeating Asuka and winning the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania, it’s time for Rhea Ripley to defend her title against Asuka and Charlotte Flair in a much anticipated Triple Threat Match at Wrestlemania Backlash. Flair seems to be the favorite to win the title for the second time in her career as she has been the most dominant wrestler amongst the three. But, just like the match for the WWE Championship, we can perhaps sense Ripley swooping in to win the title under her opponents’ nose.
2. Drew McIntyre VS Bobby Lashley VS Braun Strowman

We have always imagined what it would be like to watch proper WWE heavyweights go at it in the same ring, at the same time. That time is finally here as three colossal wrestlers, Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, and Braun Strowman will take each other on for the WWE Championship in a Triple Threat match. Traditionally in a triple threat match, we see two fighters slugging it out with the third entrant coming in with renewed energy and sweeping victory, which we hope won’t be the case here in 2021. Strowman usually lets his anger get the better of him and McIntyre would do anything to stop him, which could be the perfect moment for Bobby to take advantage of the scenario and retain his title.
1. Roman Reigns VS Cesaro

The main event of WWE PPV WrestleMania Backlash is a fight between Roman Reigns and Cesaro for the WWE Universal Championship, with Cesaro earning this wonderful opportunity by defeating Seth Rollins on Friday Night SmackDown. Roman Reigns has taken out every opponent and dealt with every kind of fight to defend his title (including a triple threat with Edge and Daniel Bryan), but taking on Cesaro could be a unique challenge for him. Cesaro has proved himself as a talented and consistent wrestler by winning multiple tag team championships over the years in WWE and he could be crowned as the Universal Champion for the first time in his career if he manages to cause an upset and get the better of the Big Dog.
