With Ronaldo leaving Juventus and Messi leaving Barcelona, the 2021 Summer Transfer Window has to go down as one of the best transfer windows in football history. With the transfer window now being shut, let’s have a look at some of the winners of the Transfer Window.

For years Bayern Munich have been ruling the Bundesliga and one of the key reasons behind it is that they improve at the expense of other Bundesliga teams. First, it was Dortmund and now it’s RB Leipzig. The Bundesliga champions brought Leipzig’s best talents – Dayot Upamecano and Marcel Sabitzer. Not only that, they even signed one of the brightest young managers in world football – Julian Nagelsmann. Another crucial signing which Bayern made was the signing of 23-year-old left-back Omar Richards from Reading to replace David Alaba who joined Real Madrid as a free agent.

Seriously, can anybody remember the last time Chelsea had a poor Transfer window? After winning the Champions League last season, Chelsea needed some quality players to improve their squad and make a bid for a Premier League title, and they did that by signing Romelu Lukaku for a club-record fee of 97m pounds from Inter Milan, who returned to Chelsea, 7 years after his first spell at the Bridge came to an end. Things looked sorted for the Blues but an injury to N’golo Kante in their match against Liverpool meant that they needed a midfielder to replace him. Chelsea were quick as they signed Saul Niguez from Athletico Madrid on a 5m loan deal on deadline day.

MANCHESTER UNITED

Manchester United needed a huge change in their squad to really challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title, so with that in mind the club pulled bargain deals for Real Madrid center-back Raphael Varane and young British winger Jadon Sancho. After signing these two, the club signed Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus which was the icing on the cake. Ronaldo was allegedly en route to join Manchester City, but a late effort from former players and managers persuaded him to return to the club where his incredible football journey began. Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has faced criticism throughout his Manchester United career as a manager but he’s weathered the storm for a moment like this.

PARIS SAINT GERMAIN

Paris Saint Germain has absolutely ruled the 2021 Summer Transfer window and the most interesting fact about that is that they have done most of their deals on a free transfer. The French club signed Georginio Wijnaldum, Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma, and the greatest of all time – Lionel Messi without paying a single penny to their former clubs. PSG’s only big-money signing this summer was Achraf Hakimi on a whooping 60m deal to sign from Inter Milan. There was a possibility of PSG losing their star Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid this summer as Los Blancos made two 150m + deals to get Mbappe’s signature but PSG was clear about their intentions to keep the player for this season at least. Things could get even better for PSG this summer if the club can convince Mbappe to sign a new long-term deal.
