1. Shane Warne made his debut against India in January 1992.
2. Then came that ball of the century against Mike Gatting in 1993.
3. Warne enjoyed an excellent tour to Pakistan in 1994, picking up 18 wickets in three matches.
4. Warne played a starring role in the 1999 World Cup, picking up four wickets in both the semi-final and final.
5. Warne was named as one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the 20th century in 2000 despite only making his debut in 1992.
6. Warne enjoyed many famous battles with THE Master Blaster.
7. Warne tested positive for a banned diuretic a day before the 2003 World Cup and was subsequently banned from the game for a year.
8. Warne picked up 40 wickets and scored 249 runs in the famous 2005 Ashes series, winning the man of the series award for his efforts.
9. Warne dismissed Andrew Strauss in the boxing day Ashes Test in 2006 to become the first man in history to pick up 700 wickets.
10. Warne retired following the next Test in Sydney alongside Justin Langer and Glenn McGrath after Australia’s 5-0 whitewash over England.
11. At age 38, Warne led an underdog Rajasthan Royals side to victory in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League.
12. Warne also played in the Big Bash for the Melbourne Stars and enjoyed a stellar commentary career post retirement.
13. The King of Spin finished his career with 708 wickets, putting him second on the all-time list behind Muttiah Muralitharan.
