For a UFC fighter to be named the #1 Pound-for-Pound fighter is as good as winning the Ballon d’Or in the world of football. So here’s our list of the top five women’s pound for pound fighters in UFC:

Weili ‘Magnum’ Zhang (22-3-0) is one of the deadliest women’s strawweight fighters the UFC has ever seen. She was crowned as the women’s strawweight champion in late 2019 when she shocked the world with a first-round KO against Jessica Andrade. But sadly, the fighter from China lost her belt to Rose Namajunas at UFC 261 in just her second title defense. As things stand, Weili Zhang and Rose Namajunas took each other on another occasion in which Rose just defended herself to pick up the W. At the start of 2022, Zhang took on Joanna Jedrzejcyzk and knocked the UFC legend in round 2 for the win.

4. Rose Namajunas, Women’s Strawweight Champion

Rose ‘Thug’ Namajunas (12-5-0) has shown us that she is a true warrior as she fought her way all the way to the championship after a poor start to her career, she never gave up! Namajunas last defeat came back in May 2019 in which she got knocked out by Jessica Andrade in the first round itself but she didn’t give up. She won the rematch in some style which earned her a title shot in which she put Zhang Weili to sleep with a head kick in the first round to be crowned as the new Women’s strawweight champion.

3. Julianna Pena, Women’s Strawweight Division

Juilianna “The Venezuelan Vixen” Pena (12-4-0) had a slow start to her UFC career but in recent years she has proved to be one of the deadliest fighters to take on inside the octagon. After defeating Sara McMann back in 2021, she was given the opportunity for a title fight against Amanda Nunes in which she choked out the Lioness against all odds to be crowned as the new Women;s Strawweight Champion.

2. Amanda Nunes, Women’s Bantamweight Champion

Amanda ‘Lioness’ Nunes (21-5-0) is one of the most dominant champions the UFC has ever seen and she was the #1 p-for-p fighter in the UFC, until she met Julianna Pena in which she lost her Bantamweight title which dropped her to second on the list. But she can settle the score in the main-event of UFC 277 on 31st of July in which she faces the Venezuelan Vixen.

1. Valentina Shevchenko, Women’s Flyweight Champion

Valentina ‘Bullet’ Shevchenko (23-3-0) sits at #1 in the women’s pound-for-pound rankings and there is no questioning that. Currently, the Women’s flyweight champion is on an impressive nine-fight win streak, and seems like there is no stopping the bullet. In her last two fights, she fought Lauren Murphy and Taila Santos in which she won via second-round knockout and split decision respectively. To add to her incredible stats, she also holds an impressive 77.42% takedown defense rate which is the best in the division.
