After facing the might of Baz-ball, Joe Root, and Jonny Bairstow in the Test matches, India turn their attention to the greatest T20 batter in the world at the moment Jos Buttler, and here is how the Men in Blue can look to dismiss the opener in the upcoming T20 series in England.
Jos Buttler is coming off a breath-taking IPL season for the Rajasthan Royals, where he scored 863 runs and a record four centuries to take the team to their first final since 2008. Buttler followed that up with another spectacular century against the Netherlands in the ODI’s, and after Eoin Morgan’s retirement from the game, the opener has been named England’s new white-ball captain.

Buttler is in the form of his life right now in T20 cricket and has been near-invincible against all types of bowling when fully set in recent months. However, the Lancastrian has shown some weakness early in his innings against the moving ball, and India’s best chance of getting him out in the 1st T20I on Thursday is using Bhuvneshwar Kumar and the new cherry.
Jos Buttler vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar in T20Is: |
Outs: 3 | Strike Rate: 97 | Average: 9.3 |
Surprisingly, Bhuvi has a terrific record against the English captain in T20 internationals, getting him out three times in 29 deliveries and going at less than a run-a-ball. Buttler also strikes at just 97 against the SRH pacer in the IPL, and if Kumar can find some early swing in the powerplay with the new ball, he could cause Buttler some problems.
