MS Dhoni and the Chennai Super Kings begin their 2021 campaign in Mumbai at the home of their arch-rivals, the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. The franchise will be hoping to turn their fortunes around after a season to forget in 2020, where the 3 time Champions had their worst ever finish, only one spot away from taking home the wooden spoon and not making the playoffs for the first time in history too.
While many passionate fans called for an overhaul to the “Dad’s Army”, MS Dhoni and Stephen Fleming did not hit the panic button and instead kept the core of the title-winning team intact and went after the off-spinning all-rounder combination of Moeen Ali and K Gowtham, both of whom could have their potential maximized under a skipper like MS Dhoni.
