KL Rahul may have ended the season as the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament, but the Lucknow captain features at number eight in our list for IPL 2022 due to his sub-par strike rate. While the opener is undoubtedly one of the top three batters in the world based on ability, he managed a strike rate of just 135 in the IPL this season, and was unable to accelerate early enough in his innings to have a greater impact for Lucknow.

Although Jos Buttler’s historic 2022 IPL season didn’t reach Virat Kohli-2016 levels of astonishment, the Englishman still managed an incredible 718 runs in 15 matches at an average of 51 and a strike rate touching 150. Buttler became the only batter after Virat Kohli to hit at least three centuries in a season while also finishing with the third-most runs in a single IPL campaign behind Warner and Kohli (both in 2016).
