GK: Lukasz Fabianski (West Ham)

Lukasz Fabianski made six saves for West Ham against Aston Villa, including one near-impossible stop to deny Danny Ings to set up an extraordinary 2-1 win for the Hammers at the London Stadium.

RB: Trevoh Chalobah (Chelsea)

Despite playing out of position as a right-back, Trevoh Chalobah produced a fine showing for Chelsea in tough circumstances at home to Newcastle United, completing five tackles and eight clearances.

CB: Joel Matip (Liverpool)

Joel Matip channelled his inner Trent Alexander-Arnold as he supplied a delicious assist from the right-wing for Luis Diaz in the first half, and the Cameroon international enjoyed a superb afternoon on the South Coast as Liverpool came away with all three points.

CB: Conor Coady (Wolves)

Conor Coady has got into the habit of getting on the scoresheet in recent months, and the Wolves captain added another goal to his tally against Everton at the weekend with a neat header from a Ruben Neves delivery.

LB: Joao Cancelo (Manchester City)

Joao Cancelo was the best player on the pitch in Manchester City’s visit to Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace on Monday night, with the Portuguese full-back hitting the post and winning the most duels in the match (14).

CM: Martin Odegaard (Arsenal)

Martin Odegaard ran the show for Arsenal in their 2-0 win over Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium, gliding across the turf like a ballerina and creating six chances for his team-mates in the 90 minutes, the most by an Arsenal player this season.

CM: Thomas Partey (Arsenal)

Joining Martin Odegaard in central midfield in the team of the week is his Arsenal team-mate, Thomas Partey. Partey grabbed his second goal in an Arsenal shirt against Leicester at the weekend, heading home from a corner in the first half, and the Ghanian international produced a superb all-round display to help the Gunners win their fifth game in a row in the Premier League.

RM: Raphinha (Leeds United)

Raphinha dazzled for Leeds United in their dramatic 2-1 victory over Norwich City at Elland Road, with the Brazilian hitting the woodwork twice before supplying the assist for Joe Gelhardt’s winning goal in the 94th minute.

LM: Luis Diaz (Liverpool)

Luis Diaz has enjoyed a stunning start to his life on Merseyside, and the Colombian winger added another goal to his tally for Liverpool against Brighton, getting on the end of Joel Matip’s cross to put the Reds in front inside ten minutes.

ST: Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United)

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 59th career hat-trick against Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend, lifting Manchester United to a 3-2 victory over their top-four rivals. The Portuguese superstar put United in front twice in the first half with two excellent strikes before scoring the winning goal for the Red Devils in the 81st minute with a thumping header in front of the Stretford End.

ST: Ivan Toney (Brentford)

After scoring a hat-trick on matchday 28, Ivan Toney added another two goals to his tally this weekend to give Brentford another three points over Burnley in their bid for survival in the Premier League.

Manager of the week: Patrick Vieira (Crystal Palace)

Patrick Vieira frustrated his former side on the Monday night kick-off in the Premier League as Crystal Palace defended valiantly to hold Manchester City to a 0-0 draw under the lights at Selhurst Park.
