There was plenty of drama that typified the English Premier League on matchday 27 as Arsenal and Manchester City both left it late to find winners against Wolves and Everton while relegation-threatened Watford held Cristiano Ronaldo and co at Manchester United to a draw at Old Trafford.

From Harry Kane to Sadio Mane, there were many stunning performances on matchday 27 and here is our Man’s Life Premier League team of the week.

GK: Ben Foster (Watford) 

Ben Foster produced an outstanding early stop to deny Bruno Fernandes, and the former Manchester United goalkeeper made three saves to help Watford keep a clean sheet at Old Trafford.

RB: Matty Cash (Aston Villa)

Matty Cash provided plenty of energy to Steven Gerrard’s side from right-back, and the defender scored the winning goal for Villa with a terrific long-range strike that went in off the post.

CB: Joel Matip (Liverpool)

Joel Matip scored his first Premier League goal of the season in style as the centre-back went on one of his trademark marauding runs through midfield before playing a superb one-two with Mohamed Salah and finding the back of the net with a brilliant first-time finish.

CB: Ben Mee (Burnley)

Ben Mee put in a true captain’s display for Burnley in their 1-0 win over Tottenham, keeping Harry Kane quiet with a rugged defensive display before out-muscling Cristian Romero to score the winning goal for the Clarets.

LB: Matt Doherty (Tottenham)

Matt Doherty ran riot for Tottenham in their 4-0 thrashing of Leeds United, combining excellently with Dejan Kulusevski down the right-wing as he opened the scoring inside ten minutes before assisting the Swedish winger for Spurs’ second goal.

CM: Joelinton (Newcastle United)

Joelinton has been given a new lease of life as a central midfielder at Newcastle United and the Brazilian delivered another noteworthy display against Brentford, winning 11 of his 19 duels and scoring the opening goal to lift the Magpies to their highest position of the season (14th).

CM: Thomas Partey (Arsenal)

Thomas Partey put in a flawless performance at the base of Arsenal’s midfield on Thursday night, helping the Gunners maintain possession with his aggression and awareness, and spurring them forward with the ball in their 2-1 win over Wolves at the Emirates.

CM: Tomas Soucek (West Ham)

Tomas Soucek was back on the scoresheet for the Hammers on Sunday as the Czech midfielder grabbed the only goal of the game at the London Stadium from close-range to give West Ham a pivotal three points against Wolves in the race for European places.

RW: Nicholas Pepe (Arsenal)

Nicholas Pepe changed the game for Arsenal off the bench in their dramatic 2-1 turnaround win over Wolves, scoring his first goal of the season to put the Gunners on level terms before slotting in Alexandre Lacazette for the winning goal in stoppage time.

LW: Sadio Mane (Liverpool)

Sadio Mane led the line with distinction for Liverpool in their 6-0 demolition job over Leeds United, linking the play and drawing the defenders out of position with his movement before netting twice in the second half with two instinctive finishes.

ST: Harry Kane (Tottenham)

Harry Kane was at his mercurial best in Tottenham’s 4-0 thrashing off Leeds United, with the English striker creating four chances and scoring a goal to keep Spurs’ top-four hopes alive at Elland Road.

Manager of the week: Eddie Howe (Newcastle United)

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United extended their unbeaten streak to six matches as they distanced themselves from the drop zone with a 2-0 victory over Brentford that puts them four points clear of relegation.
