Round 5 of the Hero Indian Super League 2021-22 season was packed with intense battles and teams had to give in their all for taking all three points. The round began with a thrilling 3-4 encounter between SC East Bengal and FC Goa who picked up their second win of the season which was followed by a 1-0 victory for Hyderabad FC against an out-of-shape Bengaluru FC.
Mumbai City FC continues their amazing win streak with a hard-fought 4-2 victory against Jamshedpur FC whereas their rivals this season, Odisha FC got away with 3 points against Northeast United FC and lastly, it was ATK Mohun Bagan who had to settle with a 1-1 draw against Chennaiyin FC.

GK: Kamaljit Singh – Odisha FC

Odisha FC’s goalkeeper Kamajit Singh came out shining in the match against Northeast United FC. The Highlanders took a total of nineteen shots and every time the ball flew towards the target, Singh made sure that it didn’t pass him.
RB: Amey Ranawade – Mumbai City FC

Amey Ranawde of Mumbai City FC makes it to the team of the week once again for his brilliant performance against Jamshedpur FC. In spite of being a defender, he stayed up the pitch to provide the attackers and won the most number of freekicks in the match (3).
CB: Rahul Bheke – Mumbai City FC

For a change, it’s Mumbai City FC’s other CB Rahul Bheke who makes it into the team of the Week for the first time this season. Bheke left the pitch with a passing accuracy of 92% and provided an assist for Ygor to settle the game with the fourth goal.
CB: Gaurav Bora – Odisha FC

The 23-year-old Indian CB, Gaurav Bhora had the game of his life in Odisha’s match against Northeast United. Bora had a passing accuracy of 82% and won all of his seven duels in the match to make it to the team of the week.
LB: Akash Mishra – Hyderabad FC

There are no questions about why Akash Mishra is included in the TOTW. The 20-year old youngster completed the most number of dribbles and earned the most number of freekicks in the match and capped off his performance with an assist to Ogbeche and winning the Hero of the Match award.
CM: Cassio Gabriel – Mumbai City FC

Mumbai City’s on-loan player Cassio scored an absolute belter from outside the box to break the deadlock in their match against Jamshedpur FC and then went on to provide two assists before the 25-minute mark.
CM: Alberto Noguera – FC Goa

FC Goa bagged their second straight victory of the season, courtesy to Alberto Noguera who scored two screamers. The first one came out from 30-yards which went through the keeper into the top corner and the second one was the match-winner which was placed into the bottom left with finesse.
CM: Ahmed Jahouh – Mumbai City FC

Ahmed Jahouh of MCFC makes it to the TOTW for the third week running. The Moroccan completed the most passes in the match (65) and provided the opener for Cassio in the thrilling win over Jamshedpur FC.
RW: Antonio Perosevic – SC East Bengal

The only player included in the TOTW from a losing side is Antonio Perosevic of SC East Bengal who equalised for the Red and Gold Brigade on two occasions, both of them being brilliant one’s. On the downside, he also scored an own goal which gifted the win to FC Goa.

The 5th and last player from Mumbai City FC to be named in the TOTW is Bipin Singh from Mumbai City FC. Singh scored the second goal from close range and had a shot accuracy of 100% which is something you’d expect from your attacker.

The striker was on target for his team FC Goa as he netted in a goal from the penalty spot and helped his side score two more goals with two assists to help his side win 3-4. Ortiz completed the most number of dribbles, created the most number of chances and won the most number of duels.
Manager of the Week: Kiko Ramirez – Odisha FC

After such a heavy week of ISL football, it was tough to choose one manager who excelled this week but we have to go with Kiko Ramirez of Odisha FC. The Kalinga Warriors have made their way to second in the table with a game in hand on league leaders Mumbai.
