Des Buckingham’s Mumbai City FC continue their impressive run of victories in the 2021-22 Hero Indian Super League. In Gameweek 4, only the fixture between Chennaiyin FC and SC East Bengal ended in a draw with other matches ending in outright results, with NorthEast United FC picking up their first victory of the season. The 21-year-old Indian goalkeeper makes it to our team of the week for the third time this season. In the match against BFC, Nawaz made two brilliant saves and also saved a Sunil Chhetri penalty which steered the match into Mumbai’s hands.
RB: Ashutosh Mehta – ATK Mohun Bagan

With ATK Mohun Bagan trying out a new formation, Ashutosh Mishra who generally plays as an RB had to take on the role of an RCB in a three-man defense and did an excellent job. He completed the most number of dribbles in the match (3) and capped off his performance with an assist.

There is no surprise in seeing this man in the team of the week again. The Senegalese defender kept the Bengaluru attack at bay and even scored a smashing header from the edge of the box to give Mumbai a lead in the second half.

After 4 gameweeks Chennaiyin FC has only conceded a single goal and all that credit goes to their 29-year-old Montenegro defender Slacko Damjanovic. His performance against SC East Bengal was top notch with 6’1 feet giant losing 0 duels and made the most number of tackles in the match (2).

Odisha FC’s signing of the season after Javi Hernandez, without a doubt, has been their 26-year-old left-back Lalruatthara. In Odisha’s defeat against Kerala, Lalruatthara was rock solid in defense with 9 duels won and 0 lost.

Ahmed Jahouh was at his best during the Islander’s win over Bengaluru FC. He got himself on the scoresheet with a brilliant assist for Mourtada Fall and completed the match with the most number of passes (31).
CM: Khassa Camara – NorthEast United FC

Khassa Camara is the first player from NorthEast United FC to book his place in the team of the week for his performance against FC Goa. The 29-year-old had a pass accuracy of 80% and scored a stoppage-time winner to mark NorthEast’s first victory of the 2021-22 season.

In BFC’s 3-1 loss to Mumbai, the only positive to take away was Cleiton Silva who’s turning into BFC’s new set-piece specialist. The 34-year-old Brazilian smashed the ball into the top-right corner from a free-kick to equalize for BFC but that wasn’t enough for the win.

The 23-year-old Indian right-winger Rochharzela makes his way into the team of the week after dancing through the right flank and smashing the ball into the bottom right corner to give NorthEast an early lead in the game.

Kerala blasters registered their first win of the season in a 2-1 win over Odisha FC and Adrian Luna left the pitch as the Hero of the match with his two wonderful assists which also took him right behind Ahmed Jahouh in the list for most assists this season.
Manager of the Week: Khalid Jamil – NorthEast United FC

After a poor start to the 2021-22 ISL campaign, it looks like NorthEast United has finally found their key to winning matches. Despite having less of the ball in the game, Jamil’s side had a better conversion rate compared to the opponents. Out of the 10 shots they took in the match, 6 of them hit the target and two went in.
