The defending Premier League Champions got hammered on their visit to the King Power stadium, even though Liverpool were leading through a second-half Mohamed Salah goal and were in complete control of the game.
In the 78th minute, Leicester equalized and completely changed the dynamics of the game. Jürgen Klopp and every Liverpool fan were devastated by Leicester’s equalizer, claiming there was a clear offside in the penalty box before James Maddison’s free-kick went completely through and in, in spite of the fact that VAR disagreed.
Things got worse for the Reds when Jürgen Klopp’s men team self-destructed after Jamie Vardy made it 2-1. Alisson who has proved to be one of the best in the world has been completely out of form in recent matches and ran into the debutant Ozan Kabak instead of the ball, which gave Jaime Vardy a clear chance to take the lead.
Harvey Barnes made it 3-1, with Leicester’s goals coming inside a seven-minute burst, and it meant that Liverpool had lost three Premier League games in succession for the first time interestingly since November 2014. This result meant that Liverpool go sixteen points behind Manchester City who are at the top.

Jürgen Klopp who lost his mother a couple of days before the match was quite emotional in the post-match press conference. Questioned about whether they are conceding the title this season, the German replied “Yes. I can’t believe it but yes”. The sixteen-point gap is almost impossible for Liverpool to close in on. The team has reflected poor form as they have gone from defending the title to falling to sixth on the table with rivals Everton breathing down their neck with a game in hand.
This was a bitter pill to swallow for Liverpool fans, prompting a few fans to go crazy on social media saying that they wanted Klopp out. Considering what he has been going through this season with the injuries and the loss of his mother, the manager has shown a lot of strength this season and fans should be urged to keep the faith and keep the man from saying goodbye to Anfield. After all, he was partly responsible for ending the thirty year wait for the Reds!
