Dheeraj Singh was signed by ATK at the start of the 19-20 ISL season. But sadly, it was a waste of money as he could only make one appearance for the club that season. After the merger of ATK and Mohun Bagan the following season, Dheeraj remained in the squad but could only make his appearances on the bench. He then left the Mariners and joined FC Goa in a move that changed the trajectory of his career. The Gaurs broke their banks with a 85 lakh swoop for the young Indian goalkeeper who played a vital role in goal for them in the ISL as well as the AFC Champions League.

4. Michael Soosairaj

Jamshedpur FC to ATK Mohun Bagan – 90 Lakhs

After getting his hands on the I-League player of the season back in 2018, Chennaiyin FC signed Soosairaj only for him to leave the club for Jamshedpur FC. During his time at Jamshedpur, Soosairaj had a stellar spell causing chaos down the left wing that got many clubs interested in signing the winger. ATK Mohun Bagan was among the list of teams that wanted Soosairaj and in the end they got their man for a whooping fee of 90 lakhs, which at that time was the highest transfer fee in the ISL.

3. Liston Colaco

Over the years we have watched Liston Colaco play, the man has never disappointed us. Colaco started his career at Hyderabad FC where he proved that he is one of India’s most promising talents and after two years in Hyderabad, ATK Mohun Bagan signed the winger for a record fee of 1.2 Crores. This transfer is still the most expensive transfer fee ever for an Indian player. And as we saw last season, Colaco is living up to hype and more.

2. Hugo Boumous

FC Goa to Mumbai City FC – 1.5 Crore

After a stellar debut season with FC Goa, it was certain that clubs will be paying big money for Boumous in the following season. With Sergio Lobera joining MCFC as head coach after his contract termination at FC Goa, the Spainard was keen on bringing the attacking midfielder to Mumbai. Lobera got his man but for a staggering fee of 1.5 Crores but the amount felt like nothing as he helped the Islanders win their first ISL trophy with Boumous being the Hero of the season.

1. Hugo Boumous

As the 2020 season got over with Boumous being hero of the season, we very well knew what he was capable of. He won trophies with both the clubs he played for before switching to ATK Mohun Bagan in 2021. Hugo Boumous joined the Mariners for a fee of 2 Crores and broke his own record of being the most expensive transfer in ISL history.
