There were plenty of extraordinary performances in Week 4 of the Indian Premier League, with Yuzvendra Chahal picking up an incredible five-wicket haul and hat-trick against the Kolkata Knight Riders and KL Rahul scoring another century vs Mumbai. However, our performance of the week has to go to the one and only Jos Buttler for his awe-inspiring two centuries in the competition over the last seven days.

Buttler started his week with an incredible century (103 off 61) against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday at the Brabourne Stadium before following that up on Friday with another ton (116 off 65) against the Delhi Capitals just a few blocks down the road at the Wankhede. In both innings, Buttler started off cautiously in the powerplay before accelerating through the middle overs and taking the Royals to a 200-plus total while batting first.

The Englishman demolished experienced internationals such as Umesh Yadav, Pat Cummins and Kuldeep Yadav to give the Royals two crucial victories and became just the second player in IPL history to score more than two tons in one single campaign.

Buttler now has three centuries & 491 runs this season after just seven games at an average of 86, and if the wicket-keeper continues to keep up this otherworldly form, he could threaten to match Virat Kohli’s historic IPL season from 2016, where he smashed a record 973 runs and four centuries.
