Following on from his excellent form for Australia in T20Is in recent months, the left-hander has looked in incredible touch so far this season for the Delhi Capitals, scoring three half-centuries in five matches at an average of 54 and a strike rate of 157. Warner has formed an excellent opening partnership with Prithvi Shaw for the Capitals, with the pair putting on the highest powerplay score of the season – 81 for 0 – in their previous outing against the Punjab Kings.

Warner’s runs at the top of the order will be pivotal to the Capital’s hopes on Thursday, and fortunately for Delhi, the Australian has a stellar record against their opponents KKR. Warner has scored more runs against KKR than any other side in the IPL – 976 runs at an average of 44 – and the Australian also has a great record against their star bowler Sunil Narine. Warner hasn’t gotten out against Narine since IPL 2016 and has an unbelievable average of 83 at a strike rate of 156 against the West Indian in the competition.

With Delhi lingering in seventh in the table with three wins and four losses, Warner will have to continue his form against the Knight Riders and step up again at the top of the order to give the Capitals an outside chance of finishing in the top four.
