Fantasy Premier League 2021-22 – Best Team Game-Week 24

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 - Game-Week 24
A A A tT

After a seemingly never-ending international break, Premier League football finally returns to our TV screens with a mid-week round of fixtures. While Chelsea have a blank fixture due to the Club World Cup, Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham are the teams to target in gameweek 24 as they all have home ties against mid-table opposition.

Here are our Premier League fantasy football picks for Gameweek 24.

FPL GW24

GK: David de Gea (MUN) – £5.2m

January Premier League player of the month David de Gea has earned 14 points in his last three fixtures, and the Spaniard could bag another clean-sheet in gameweek 24 as United face bottom dwellers Burnley at Turf Moor.

DEF: Trent Alexander-Arnold (LIV) – £8.4m

Trent Alexander-Arnold remains a must-have asset for all Premier League fantasy football managers as the highest-scoring defender in Fantasy Premier League this season. The Englishman has registered 30 points in his last three Anfield outings and has another excellent fixture at home to Leicester City this week.

DEF: Joao Cancelo (MCI) – £7.1m

Manchester City have been the best defensive team in the Premier League this season – conceding only 14 goals in 23 games – and Joao Cancelo remains the best asset in defence from the Cityzens, starting all but one league game this season and registering nine goals and assists.

DEF: Emerson Royal (TOT) – £4.9m

Tottenham have only conceded three goals in five home Premier League games under Antonio Conte, and Brazilian defender Emerson Royal also carries a significant attacking threat from wing-back, making him an excellent pick for this week’s fixture against Southampton in North London.

MID: Riyad Mahrez (MCI) – £8.6m

Riyad Mahrez managed 44 points in four starts for Manchester City in the Premier League before departing for the Africa Cup of Nations, and the Algerian winger has continued in a similar vein since returning from the competition, scoring a brace in their FA Cup win over Fulham. Mahrez has 24 shots and 16 chances created for Manchester City at home this season and could be an excellent option for Fantasy Premier League managers as Pep Guardiola’s side welcome Brentford to the Etihad stadium.

MID: Conor Gallagher (CRY) – £6.2m

Despite his form having cooled off over the winter, Conor Gallagher is an excellent FPL option in gameweek 24 as Crystal Palace take on the second-worst defence in the Premier League this season at Carrow Road – Norwich City.

MID: Diogo Jota (LIV) – £8.4m

With Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane going all the way to the final in AFCON, Jota could be guaranteed a start in gameweek 24 at home to Leicester. The Portuguese is the second-highest goal-scorer in the league with ten strikes and has managed three goals in his last three starts for Liverpool at Anfield.

MID: Phil Foden (MCI) – £8.0m

Although Phil Foden has started only three of Manchester City’s previous six fixtures, the Englishman will be the one to watch for FPL managers ahead of their favourable run of games against bottom-half opposition.

FWD: Son Heung-Min (TOT) – £10.6 m

Son Heung-Min returned to action for Tottenham in the FA Cup against Brighton, and the Korean forward could be an excellent differential option for fantasy premier league managers in gameweek 24. Son is owned by only 13% of managers, and the Spurs forward managed 48 points in the last six appearances before his injury.

FWD: Harry Kane (TOT) – £12.3m

Harry Kane has slowly got back to his best under Antonio Conte, with the English striker managing five goals and assists in his last six league games. Kane’s numbers over the past few weeks have been incredibly promising, with the Englishman taking ten shots and creating three chances in Tottenham’s 3-2 win over Leicester in January.

FWD: Odsonne Edouard (CRY) – £6.5m

Odsonne Edouard ticks every box for Fantasy Premier League managers ahead of gameweek 24 with excellent form, promising underlying stats and great fixture in the weeks ahead. Edouard has managed 30 points in his last four appearances and managed a season-high 14 points the last time he faced Norwich City in gameweek 20.

Captaincy Pick

While Mohamed Salah’s involvement in gameweek 24 remains a question mark, the number one captaincy choice for this week is Harry Kane. Tottenham have improved significantly in attack under Antonio Conte, and Kane could be in amongst the points as Spurs take on 12th placed Southampton at home.
