The FPL fixtures are coming thick and fast at this time of the year as the Premier League ramps up the schedule in the winter months. There is a lot to look forward to in Gameweek 15 with Ralf Ragnick taking charge of Manchester United for the first time while Manchester City begin an excellent run of fixtures in the festive period.
Here are our FPL picks for Gameweek 15.
GK: Alex McCarthy (SOU) – £4.6m
Alex McCarthy has registered five clean sheets and eight save points this season for Southampton and has a favourable fixture at home against a Brighton team that haven’t found their shooting boots in recent weeks in the Premier League.
Defence – Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.0m) | Joao Cancelo (£6.8m) | Reece James (£6.1m) | Sergio Reguilon (£5.2m)
In defence, the triple threat of Trent Alexander Arnold, Joao Cancelo and Reece James are all must-have picks for this weekend’s fixtures against West Ham, Wolves and Watford. Moreover, joining them in defence in our FPL picks for this week is Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilon. Reguilon has had a resurgence at left-wing back under Antonio Conte and is averaging a big chance involvement a game under the Italian.
Reguilon has scored 26 points in his last three fixtures for Tottenham and could be amongst the points once again this week as Spurs take on Norwich City at home.
MID: Raphinha (LEE) – £6.7m
Raphinha has scored three goals in his last four fixtures for Leeds United and the Brazilian winger takes on a Brentford side that have conceded eight goals in their last three fixtures away from home.
MID: Phil Foden (MCI) – £8.1m
After being rested in midweek, Phil Foden is a certainty to start Manchester City’s weekend fixture at Watford. The English international could play as the centre-forward for Pep Guardiola’s side and has taken 11 shots in the box and registered three big chances on the road for City this season.
MID: Son-Heung Min (TOT) – £10.4m
Son-Heung Min takes on a Norwich City side that have conceded a league-leading 17 goals away from home this season and the South Korean international has four goals and two assists in seven appearances at home this season.
MID: Mohamed Salah (LIV) – £13.0m
Mohamed Salah took his tally to 13 for the campaign with a brace at Everton on Tuesday night and is averaging over 12 points a game away from in this 21/22 FPL season.
MID: Maxwell Cornet (BUR) – £6.1m
After scoring five goals in six starts for Burnley this season, Maxwell Cornet is an excellent differential option for this week with the Clarets travelling to Newcastle United – who have conceded in every match so far this season.
FWD: Ollie Watkins (AVL) – £7.5m
Ollie Watkins has enjoyed a revival in Steven Gerrard’s short spell at Aston Villa so far – scoring in his last three home games at Villa Park – and the English striker is likely to get on the scoresheet once again as he takes on a Leicester side that have conceded in each of their last 14 games in all competitions.
Captaincy Pick
Once again Mohamed Salah is the obvious captaincy choice for this weekend, but Son Heung-Min could also be an excellent differential with the Tottenham winger registering three double-digit scores at home this season.
