A A A tT

Gameweek 13 has the potential to be incredibly high-scoring with favourable home fixtures for Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal, while Chelsea take on a weakened Manchester United in the marquee matchup of the weekend.

Defenders have ruled the FPL landscape over the past few weeks, with Reece James, Alexander-Arnold and Joao Cancelo all featuring in our FPL picks for gameweek 13.

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 - Game-Week 13

GK: Aaron Ramsdale (ARS) – £4.8m

Aaron Ramsdale has managed 5.2 points per game & five clean-sheets since becoming Arsenal’s first-choice keeper in gameweek four, and could be in amongst the points once again this week as the Gunners host the league’s bottom-dwellers Newcastle United at the Emirates.

Defence – Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.8m) | Joao Cancelo (£6.6m) | Reece James (£6.1m).

In defence, the three must-have picks in the game at the moment for every week are the three full-backs/creative fulcrums of the top three teams in the league – Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joao Cancelo and Reece James.

After Mohamed Salah, TAA, Cancelo and James are the three top-scoring players in the game and are averaging 7.9, 6.6 and 8.3 points per game, respectively. In gameweek 13, all three have favourable home fixtures, with Trent and Cancelo taking on Southampton and West Ham, while Chelsea face a Michael Carrick-led Manchester United.

MID: Diogo Jota (LIV) – £7.6m

With Roberto Firmino out injured, Diogo Jota still represents incredible value as the central striker in Liverpool’s system, and the Portuguese has six goals and assists in nine league starts for the Reds this season.

MID: Conor Gallagher (CRY) – £6.0m

Conor Gallagher has been involved in 12 big chances in his 11 starts for Crystal Palace and has registered five goals and four assists this season.

MID: Emile Smith Rowe (ARS) – £5.9m

Emile Smith Rowe has five goals & assists in his four league starts at home this season and could add to that tally this weekend as Arsenal take on the worst defensive league in the team – Newcastle United – at the Emirates.

MID: Mohamed Salah (LIV) – £13.0m

Mohamed Salah is owned by an astonishing 72% of FPL managers and has either scored or assisted in all but one match so far this season – totalling 125 points with 11 goals and 8 assists.

MID: Bernardo Silva (MCI) – £7.2m

With Phil Foden an injury doubt, Bernardo Silva is the go-to Manchester City option for this weekend’s clash against West Ham. Silva is started each of City’s last 11 league games and has scored an impressive 33 points over the last five matches.

FWD: Jamie Vardy (LEI) – £10.6m

Although Jamie Vardy has not returned in any of the last four weeks, the Englishman is amongst the best forward options this week ahead of a home tie against Watford. Vardy has scored in four of his five previous meetings against the Hornets and has taken a team-high 15 shots in the box at home this season.

FWD: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (ARS) – £9.9m

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored four goals in his five home starts this season and takes on a Newcastle United side that has conceded a league-high 27 goals.

Captaincy Pick

With Liverpool taking on Southampton at home this week, the captaincy decision is a no brainer considering the form and ownership of Mohamed Salah at the moment.
