After a slow start to the 2022 summer transfer window, Todd Boehly and Chelsea have finally begun to make a mark at Stamford Bridge by securing Raheem Sterling. With clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich interested in the player, Sterling is now London bound after his 47.5m bid was accepted by the English champions. The forward was a key target for the blues in the current summer transfer window as Tuchel was known to have a direct discussion with Sterling regarding his move and role at Chelsea. This transfer also helps Tuchel to cushion the blow of Lukaku’s loan move to Inter and also fulfill Sterling’s desire to have more game time ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.

“I’ve obviously achieved a lot in my career so far, but there is still so much more to achieve and I’m really looking forward to doing that in a Chelsea shirt, under  Tuchel’s management,” Sterling told the club’s website. London is my home and where it all started for me, and it’s amazing I now have the opportunity to play in front of friends and family week in, week out at Stamford Bridge. I’m really looking forward to meeting the fans there soon. I do want to take the opportunity to thank Todd, Behdad, the ownership group, Thomas, and all involved in the process of getting me here. I can’t wait to get going now and continue to do my talking on the pitch.”
