On Thursday, big spending French club Paris Saint Germain announced the signing of Sergio Ramos on a two-year deal which brings his 16-year monstrous career at Real Madrid to an end, where he proved himself to be the greatest defenders and leaders the sport has ever seen.
On his arrival at the French capital, Ramos said, “I am very happy to join Paris Saint Germain. This is a big change in my life, a new challenge and it’s a day I will never forget. I am very proud to be a part of the ambitious project, to be a part of this squad with so many great players. PSG is a club that has already proven itself at the highest level. I want to continue to grow and improve at Paris and help the team to win as many trophies as possible”
PSG has outdone other European clubs in this summer transfer window as Ramos becomes the club’s second free signing as they acquired the services of Gini Wijnaldum earlier this summer from Liverpool. The club also signed the 22-year-old left-back Achraf Hakimi for 70million from Inter Milan.

He added by saying, “Sergio is a complete footballer, one of the best defenders in the history of the game. He is a born competitor, a leader, and a true professional. His vast experience and ambition is in perfect synergy with those of the club. I am proud to see him in a Paris Saint-Germain jersey and I know our supporters will reverse a fantastic welcome for him”.
What lies ahead for PSG?
Sergio Ramos becomes PSG’s third signing this summer alongside Georginio Wijnaldum and Achraf Hakimi and are now looking to bring in the Italian goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarouma but the player is clear that all the deal talks will be done once the player returns from international duty with Italy at the European Championships.
