As per the offer made, Barcelona will pay an initial £38m to bring Lewandowski to Spain with Bayern receiving a further £5m potentially due in add-ons if the player manages to meet the clauses in his contract. The Polish striker has signed a three-year contract with an option for a fourth season and according to some reports, his new contract will allow him to earn somewhere around the range of £8m a year.

What has been said?

The Barcelona club statement for the Lewandowski transfer news read, “The striker from Poland stands out for his goal-scoring abilities. Inside the box, he has all the tools to make him a difficult striker to read as he can find the net with his head and both feet with equal precision. His technical qualities also mean that he can lunk up well outside the box also. Lewandowski will bring goals, experience, and know-how to the Barcelona attack”

After being revealed as the new Barcelona signing, Lewandowski said, “I am very happy to have joined FC Barcelona. The eight years were special and you don’t forget that. I had a great time in Munich. I will fly soon but after the training camp I will come back and say goodbye properly and organize a few things”
