MEN’S SINGLES

Novak Djokovic faced 22year old Stephanos Tsitsipas in the chase for his 19th Grand Slam and after an epic vs Rafa Nadal, this one went the distance too. High octane tennis was on display in the first set from both competitors with Tsitsipas finally coming out on top after a gruelling tiebreak. The world #5 then continued with his aggressive form out of the blocks, easing past Djokovic 6-2 in the second set. Everyone watching sensed Djokovic would not go easily and following a short break and a change of clothes, he bounced back and the Serb broke Tsitsipas’ momentum and took the set 6-3. That’s all the World Number 1 needed, the third set served as a catalyst for him and he dominated the match from there on out. He won the next two sets 6-2 6-4 and became the first male player in the Open Era to win every Grand Slam at least twice. A tremendous performance from both players which capped off a sensational tournament of tennis.

Barbora Krejčiková and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova played sensational Tennis worthy of a Grand Slam final with both after their maiden Singles title in a Slam. The first two sets were opposite sides of the spectrum. Krejčiková started off brilliantly and quite easily took the first set 6-1. The next set was Pavlyuchenkova’s turn to dominate before the deciding set went the way of the Czech who managed to break at a crucial time.
