The drought is finally over. After nearly three years of waiting, Virat Kohli has finally crossed the three-figure mark in international cricket as the former Indian captain smashed a scintillating century against Afghanistan in India’s final Asia Cup encounter in Dubai on Thursday. Kohli’s glistening unbeaten 122 of 61 deliveries was littered with trademark strokes against the pacers and spinners, taking India to a commanding total of 212 for two in the first innings.

With this knock, Virat Kohli equals Ricky Ponting’s feat of 71 international tons. Only Sachin Tendulkar, with a hundred 100s, has scored more centuries in international cricket than Virat. Kohli also becomes the fourth Indian after Suresh Raina, KL Rahul, and Rohit Sharma to score an international century in all three formats, and his knock of 122* is also the highest by an Indian in T20Is.
This knock ends Virat Kohli’s agonizing 83 international innings and 1019-day wait for a ton, and here are some of the best reactions from the cricketing community on social media following the King’s special knock.

The tension, pressure or whatever it is, it’s totally missing on Virat Kohli’s face and hence he is playing so freely and confidently. Scoring runs everywhere on the ground. GOAT! #IndvsAFG pic.twitter.com/sBHOYUrBi7
