Team India were a cut above the rest at the U-19 World Cup in the West Indies, and one of the architects of their record-extending fifth title was all-rounder Raj Bawa. Bawa began the tournament with a phenomenal four-wicket haul against the West Indies and finished with the best figures in a final in the history of the U-19 World Cup, picking up five for 31 to help India restrict England to just 189. With the bat, Bawa was equally impressive, breaking Shikhar Dhawan’s record to register the highest individual score by an Indian at the U-19 World Cup with his unbeaten 162 against Uganda in the group stage.
