The Todd Boehly era at Chelsea is under way and as a result fans could see a markedly different look for the Blues this season. Thomas Tuchel’s side signed Kalidou Koulibaly and Raheem Sterling in the current transfer window from Napoli and Manchester City respectively. The 31-year-old center-back who has built up a reputation as one of the best defenders in football arrived for a fee of £33m. Sterling, meanwhile, joined Chelsea for £45m following a trophy-laden spell at Manchester City in which he won four PL titles, 5 League cups and one FA cup.

After the departure of Christensen and Rudiger to Spain earlier this transfer window, it seemed like Chelsea might not be able to find players to replace them. But Tuchel’s team proved everyone wrong with the signing of Koulibaly who is most likely to play a key role in their defense in the coming season. As for Raheem Sterling, the man needs no introduction. The former Man City winger has bagged 131 goals in 339 games for Pep’s side and that is exactly what Chelsea wanted upfront.
The business done so far in the current summer transfer window has certainly put Chelsea in a much better position but there still remains plenty to do.

Chelsea had their eyes set on Jules Kounde since the January Transfer Window but both parties could not come to an agreement. As a result of that Barcelona swooped in the negotiations and confirmed the signing of the french center back. With Kounde out of options Chelsea have been monitoring RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol, Atletico Madrid’s Jose Giminez, Inter’s Milan Skriniar and Villareal’s Pau Torres to support Koulibaly and Thiago Silva next season.
When it comes to midfielders, Chelsea have lost hope on signing Declan Rice from West Ham and have now shifted their attention towards Leicester City’s Wesly Fofona who recently signed a two-year contract extension with his current club. Tuchel has also had a word with Conor Gallagher who was out on loan at Crystal Palace and assured him a key role in the coming Premier League Season.
The Blues are also struggling to find buyers for players they no longer want and cost them more than £700k a week in wages.
