Turns out, it has to do with more than just growing facial hair!
Come November, a lot of guys can be seen with facial hair! Most people think it’s some silly IG trend. Well, in reality, it’s a lot more than that! The No-Shave November is a cause that propagates cancer prevention and helps those fighting the disease. No-Shave November is a month-long journey during which participants forgo shaving and grooming in order to evoke conversation and raise cancer awareness.
The campaign doesn’t just encourage men alone to participate. It also invites women to give it a go by—giving up their scissors and clippers a miss during the month of November. Learn more about how you can get involved and start getting hairy!
The ultimate purpose of No-Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing your hair, which many cancer patients lose. It’s about letting it grow wild and free. The idea is to donate the money you typically spend on shaving and grooming to support the cause like we have mentioned above. Last year, through the No-Shave November campaign, around 1.76 million dollars were raised!
The rules of No-Shave November are simple: Put down your razor for 30 days and donate your monthly hair-maintenance expenses to the cause. You will be surprised how much money it is once you ditch the monthly visit to the salon! You can participate by growing a beard or a moustache, letting those legs go natural, and skipping that waxing appointment.
If you’re not ready to get hairy, sit back and support someone who is. Or you want to be a part of the campaign and are hesitant because of the strict dress-code at work? Don’t worry! The campaign encourages participation of any kind—so, grooming and trimming at home are perfectly acceptable!
Finally, use the power of social media to champion the cause! If you’re rocking the full beard, let your friends know that you’re a part of this campaign. Take a snap and share it across your social media platforms. Every ‘like’, ‘reshare’ and ‘retweet’ will only grow the No-Shave November community!
