It’s the month for growing beards!

A A A tT

It’s that time of the year again. Yes, it’s time for No Shave November! While you guys are out there growing out the foliage on your face the rest of us are wondering how it’s going to look by the end of this month? Growing out a beard is not everyone’s cup of tea, but we are here to help. Here are some tips and tricks to ace the No Shave November challenge.

1. BE PATIENT

Growing a beard takes time, ask those who have grown them out for years. Beard hair sprouts at different rates for everybody, so hang in there bud! Resist the urge to fiddle around with it so that you give it time to grow evenly. Commit to the process, patience my friends will take you a long way or till the end of this month at least!

2. GIVE YOUR BEARD A BATH

Your beard is a trap for all the food that misses going into your mouth—pretty gross TBH! It honestly isn’t that much of a task, all you gotta do is wash your beard regularly. Crumbs and food scraps left in your beard can aggravate itchiness on the skin beneath. Using a gentle cleanser will leave you with a clean and a great smelling beard. Remember to pat dry your facial fuzz and not rub it vigorously, as it causes frizz and split ends.

3. HYDRATE YOUR BEARD

Just like how your skin needs moisturisers to stay hydrated, your beard needs some love too. To keep it soft and shiny it needs nurturing and what better than beard oil? It moisturises the skin underneath and prevents flakiness and maintains follicle health. Your beard will only be healthy if the skin underneath it is also taken care of.

4. GROOM YOUR BEARD

If you’ve decided not to touch your razor this month, just make sure to regularly comb or brush your beard out to get rid of any knots and tangles. You don’t want a matted beard now, do you?

5. EAT RIGHT

Believe it or not, having a healthy diet affects your beard growth directly. Your beard needs the right amount of proteins and vitamins from within too. It starts from incorporating the right kind of food into your diet. From lean meats to leafy vegetables, food plays an important part in growing a luscious beard, much like your hair and skin!

Now that we have the basics sorted, growing and maintaining a beard for an entire month or more isn’t going to be that hard. Happy No Shave November, you guys!
