With the release of AntMan & The Wasp: Quantumania, Marvel fans have plenty to be excited about with the upcoming slate of Marvel projects. From Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 to Loki: Season 2, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Phase 5 is expanding in all directions. Here are some of the most anticipated upcoming Marvel projects in 2023:
Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Vin Diesel as Groot, Karen Gillan as Nebula, and Pom Klementieff as Nebula all return in Guardians of the Galaxy 3. High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji) and Adam Warlock, two significant new MCU members, are also featured in the sequel (Will Poulter). Even while the movie will be Gunn’s last with Marvel, it should nonetheless pave the way for other intergalactic journeys.
As the God of Mischief makes his magnificent return to television alongside the TVA, Loki will be the first live-action programme in the MCU to receive a second season. With the Multiverse now fully unleashed—as we also saw in Spider-Man: No Way Home—the entire cast from Season 1 will return to reprise their roles in Season 2, which will push the limits of inter-dimensional storytelling in the MCU further than ever before.
Given Kang, the Conqueror’s rapid ascent to power and the Multiverse’s impending collapse, Loki Season 2 may prove to be a crucial foundation for the Multiverse Saga.
Beginning in early 2023, Marvel Studios will launch Secret Invasion, which will star Ben Mendelsohn’s Talos and Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury. This will be the studio’s first-ever officially declared “crossover event.” The two will deal with an invasion of rogue Skrulls that have invaded Earth and pose a threat to any MCU character by being exposed as a fake.
The show’s teaser didn’t give away a lot about the plot, but it did highlight an amazing cast of characters, including established actors like Don Cheadle’s War Machine and up-and-comers like Emilia Clarke’s unnamed Marvel player.
Finally coming to theaters after multiple long delays, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will serve as the second exciting story for Miles Morales and Hailee Steinfeld’s Spider-Gwen. After 2018’s Into the Spider-Verse became one of the most successful animated movies ever, fans hope this sequel will bring the same acclaim and praise as the original did.
In this new film, The Spot played by Jason Schwartzman, Miles and Gwen will have their hands full while the plot highlights numerous new Spider-Man Variants from numerous different universes. A top-notch voice cast, including Oscar Isaac, who is playing Spider-Man 2099 for the first time, completes the recipe for Sony to deliver yet another exhilarating journey that takes place outside of Miles’ New York City.
With the July 28, 2023 premiere of The Marvels, viewers will finally have another opportunity to see Carol Danvers on an adventure. The Marvels will also feature Monica Rambeau, played by Teyonah Parris, and Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, played by Iman Vellani, in addition to Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel. Also, it is revealed that Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury will return. Zawe Ashton will undoubtedly portray an unnamed villain in the movie, while Park Seo-Joon also has an unspecified part.
These are just a few of the many upcoming Marvel projects that fans can look forward to. With the MCU expanding in so many directions, there’s never been a better time to be a Marvel fan.
