Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences pushed back the prestigious awards ceremony by two months, causing the 93rd Academy Awards to be held late Sunday (early Monday for India). The Oscars 2021 were hostless and were broadcast from The Dolby Theatre and Union Station. David Fincher’s Mank which led the way with 10 nominations took two Oscars home while Nomadland, a favourite to win the Oscars this year, won the coveted Best Picture award.
