There was a time in the 90s when Sooraj Barjatya ruled supreme. His intensely family-friendly movies drew huge crowds. However, in the age of social media and instant gratification, his films have been given the meme treatment.
However, Barjatya’s film with Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor titled Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo had performed exceedingly well at the Box Office and the hook step from the title song had also gone viral.
Now, the veteran director is coming together with actors Amitabh Bachchan and Boman Irani for his next film. The film was supposed to go on floors in February 2021 but has been pushed to September due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Barjatya’s film will be titled Unchai and will celebrate human relationships and friendship between these senior actors. It is also being reported that actor Anupam Kher has joined the star cast.
The film will be released in 2022 in theatres.
