Actor Sidharth Malhotra made his debut opposite Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in Karan Johar’s Student of the Year and one can argue that almost a decade later, Malhotra has turned out to be the least successful “student”. After a spate of hits, he’s delivered dud after dud at the box office. However, he has also been a part of some successful movies like Ek Villain (2014) and Kapoor & Sons (2016). Now, the actor has opened up about his successes and failures.
“Every actor, at any level in India or anywhere else in the world, will experience both highs and lows. They all come with their set of learnings. I think the lows teach you much more than the highs,” he told Hindustan Times.
“I think no one questions you when things are going correctly, when movies are working well. No one really introspects, questions or even criticizes you. But when the low comes, that’s when the real learning comes in. You get that kind of feedback, you want to work much harder, on yourself, stories, scripts etc. I think it definitely drives you,” he added.
