Today, we are thanking our stars. It is being reported that actor Salman Khan wanted his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma to play the role of Captain Vikram Batra (PVC) in the hit film Shershaah. Shershaah began streaming on Amazon Prime Video on the 12th of August and has opened to great reviews and a stupendous response from the audience. Shershaah stars Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in the lead role. Salman had wanted Aayush Sharma to play the role that Sidharth Malhotra eventually ended up playing.

“Salman approached me at a stage when I was in talks with Junglee Pictures. He wanted Shershaah to be Aayush’s [Sharma] debut film, and wanted to partner with me on it,” producer Shabbir Boxwala told Mid-Day. However, the Kargil war hero’s family unanimously seconded the idea that Sidharth plays the role of Captain Vikram Batra.

“It would have been highly unethical to drop him for another actor. When Captain Batra’s family gave me the rights, it was a big moment for me. They showed immense trust in me, and I didn’t want to go wrong at any step. I explained [my predicament] to Salman, who was understanding. Aayush was sweet and sportingly said that playing a double role in his debut movie might be [a tall order],” he added.
