Fact Check: No Grand Reception On 2nd February For Varun Dhawan’s Bollywood friends

A A A tT

Actor Varun Dhawan got married to his childhood sweetheart, Natasha Dalal, in a private ceremony last week. The event was attended by B-town biggies like Karan Johar, Manish Malhotra and Shashank Khaitan. Keeping in mind the current COVID-19 protocols set by the government, the couple could only invite close friends and family.

A strict no-phone-policy was reinforced at the wedding, similar to what Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma did at their wedding. Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas had done the same for their lavish wedding. However, the actor soon released two pictures from his wedding on his Instagram handle and was soon bombarded with comments by his industry friends who were elated to see one of Bollywood’s nicest guys married.

According to media reports, Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal will head to Turkey for their honeymoon. The couple will reportedly be staying at The Çırağan Palace in Istanbul which is a former Ottoman Palace. The Palace’s most expensive suite, The Sultan’s Suite costs an astounding $35,419.68 per night.

It was also reported earlier that the couple would hold a grand reception on February 2 for Dhawan’s friends from the film industry, but we can now report that these rumours are false. No such reception is being held. The reports claimed that Varun and Natasha have booked JW Marriot hotel for the reception and the invites have been sent. However, we spoke to a source close to the actor who rubbished these reports. The source said, “This news is false. Nothing is happening on Feb 2nd. Varun definitely wants to celebrate with his industry friends, but these times are challenging and the COVID norms only allow 100 people to be present at the function. Varun wants to throw a big bash and he will do it only when the government allows more people to attend a wedding.”
