Days after actor Anushka Sharma shared a video thanking her fans for their birthday wishes and stating that she and her husband, Virat Kohli, were coming up with an initiative to aid India during this time of crisis, the celebrity couple have launched a fundraiser. “As our country battles the second wave of Covid-19, and our healthcare systems are facing extreme challenges, it breaks my heart to see our people suffering. So, Virat and I have initiated a campaign #InThisTogether, with Ketto, to raise funds for Covid-19 relief,” Sharma wrote on Instagram.

“We shall all overcome this crisis together. Please step forward to support India and Indians. Your contribution will help in saving lives during this critical time,” she added. In the video, Sharma and Kohli ask their fans to donate to the fundraiser, stating that every bit counts. They also shared their gratitude for frontline workers who’ve been working 24*7 to help COVID-19 patients in India. Multiple celebrities have come forward to start fundraisers and donate money as India battles the pandemic. Even as international cricketers came forward to donate money for COVID aid to India, many netizens criticised Kohli for maintaining a staid silence on the issue.
