After complaining of breathlessness on Sunday, veteran actor Dilip Kumar had been admitted to Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. While the 98-year-old thespian is stable and not on ventilator, he continues to be on life support. “Dilip Saab is on oxygen support – not on ventilator. He is stable. Waiting for few test results to perform pleural aspiration : Dr Jalil Parkar, chest specialist treating Saab,” confirmed Kumar’s official Twitter handle. The family has also requested the media to express restraint and refrain from publishing unverified information. “Request to media: Millions of Dilip Saab’s fans look upto you for update on his health. You have always done a great job. Please verify from this twitter handle instead of calling anybody who may not have direct knowledge,” their family friend, Faisal Farooqui wrote on Twitter.

The Bollywood film industry, as a whole, has come together to wish the actor a speedy recovery. Sharing an old photo, actor Dharmendra also asked everyone to pray for Kumar. “Dosto, Dalip Sahab ek nek rooh insaan…ek azeem fankaar ke liye aap ki rooh se uthi duaen zaroor bar aayengi. Ji jaan se Shukriya Aap sab ka,” he wrote. We wish him a speedy recovery!
