While most actors and directors agree that OTT platforms have allowed for better stories and opened avenues for more actors to explore various genres, Aamir Khan has said that he’s concerned about the fact that Bollywood films are skipping theatrical releases in lieu of digital streaming. Two big-budget Bollywood films, Shershaah and Bhuj: The Pride of India have skipped a theatrical release and have opted for a straight-to-OTT release.

“Some films are releasing on OTT platforms, and as a film person I am very concerned. I hope in near future things will improve,” Aamir Khan told Indianexpress.com. “It is not easy to talk about reopening of cinema halls. Theatres can be opened up only when the health situation improves, and we control the Covid-19 situation as a society, we are all trying and working on it. As more and more people get vaccinated things will get better,” he added.

On the work front, Aamir Khan will be seen next in Laal Singh Chaddha which is the Indian adaptation of the Hollywood cult film, Forrest Gump.
