The only electric vehicle on this list, Tata Nexon EV has been extremely popular among early EV adopters in India. Arguably, it is also the highest-selling electric vehicle in India. Launched last year, the Nexon EV had one major drawback which is its — quite frankly, mediocre — range of roughly 220kms on a single charge. However, recent reports have suggested that Tata is working on a long-range variant that will have more than 400kms of range owing to a 40kWh battery. With the new long-range model and the increasing EV infrastructure, the Nexon EV will not only blow over the electric car market but also its ICE counterparts.

Jeep Compass

The only affordable Jeep available in India is the ever-popular Jeep Compass. Despite its high price tag, the Compass has been a favourite of SUV enthusiasts in the country. Jeep has gone one step further and launched the Compass Trailhawk in India in 2019 and its refresh earlier this year. The trailhawk is the holy grail of Jeep Compass in India and has an amazing 4WD drivetrain, like most trailhawk models by Jeep abroad.

Isuzu D-Max V-Cross

With the launch of the Toyota Hilux in India, the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross has lost its title of the only lifestyle pickup truck in the country. However, that does not rob it of its credentials as a superb off-roader and a pickup truck. The V-Cross has been popular among off-road enthusiasts in India with many equipping theirs with a lift kit and other off-road modifications.

Skoda Slavia

The only sedan on this list is the recently launched Skoda Slavia. However, the one to get is the 1.5-litre petrol with the 6-speed manual. This one makes decent power, with 150hp and 250Nm of torque, and is sure to impress enthusiasts as well as regular commuters alike. You may be thinking that launching a sedan in the SUV-favouring market seems like a mistake, but there are hopes that the sedan segment will once again become popular.
