Suzuki V-Strom SX has just been launched in India. The new adventure tourer motorcycle gets a 249cc single-cylinder engine from the Gixxer 250 that churns out a respectable 26.5hp and 22.2Nm of torque. The quirky-looking quarter-litre adventure tourer will compete with the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan, Honda CB200x, and KTM 250 Adventure. Suzuki V-Strom SX has been developed primarily for Asian markets and differs from the global version. It takes its styling and engineering cues from its big-brother, the V-Strom 650 XT.

Available at all premium Suzuki dealerships, the V-Strom SX is priced at Rs. 2.11 lakhs ex-showroom. It can be purchased in three colours — Champion Yellow Number 2, Glass Sparkle Black, and Pearl Blaze Orange.

As mentioned, Suzuki V-Strom SX is powered by a 249cc single-cylinder engine borrowed from the Gixxer 250 range. Mated to a six-speed constant-mesh gearbox, the engine produces 26.5hp and 22.2Nm of torque. It gets Suzuki Oil Cooling System (SOCS) that can help keep the engine’s running temperature at optimum levels. Riders can also adjust the power and torque levels can be adjusted using the electronic fuel injectors as per the riding style.

Suzuki V-Strom SX has 205mm of ground clearance and has a seat height of 835mm. The adventure tourer comes equipped with a 12-litre fuel tank and has a 167kg kerb weight.

Design and Features

Borrowing styling elements from its elder sibling, the Suzuki V-Strom 650XT, the quarter-litre motorcycle looks every bit of an adventure tourer. It gets telescopic front forks with a swingarm-linked monoshock at the back and disc brakes on both ends. Other key features include LED headlamps and taillamps, windscreen, knuckle guards, an ADV-style beak, split seat design, and the exhaust from the Gixxer lineup. It also gets 19-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels at the front and back, respectively.

Suzuki V-Strom SX also has a full digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. Riders can connect their smartphones using the Suzuki Ride Connect app and the motorcycle also gets a USB charger.

The new adventure-tourer from Suzuki will compete with the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan, Honda CB200x, and KTM 250 Adventure.
