Rolls Royce Boat Tail, a bespoke luxury convertible, has just made its first public appearance. The ultra-rare, ultra-luxurious is the second car in a series of three cars that Rolls Royce will build for three lucky customers around the world. The new Rolls Royce Boat Tail commission has been built for a customer who wanted to pay homage to his father and his pearl business.
Rolls Royce hasn’t announced the price of the Boat Tail yet, but it is said to be priced around GBP 20 million or Rs. 200 crores. The Rolls Royce Boat Tail made its first public appearance at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2022 on May 21 in Italy. The second Boat Tail, like the previous one, is entirely hand built with its design borrowing heavily from the racing yachts of the early 20th century.
Talking about the design, Rolls Royce states that the second Boat Tail commission has a restrained design. It gets a two-tone paint job with a Soft Rose and Oyster pearlescent finish and contrasting Cognac-coloured bonnet. The sills on the car are finished in Rose Gold.
The rear deck of the Rolls Royce Boat Tail is finished in Royal Walnut veneer with Rose Gold-plated pinstripes. The signature Pantheon grille which is constructed using a single, solid piece of aluminium adorns the Spirit of Ecstacy bonnet ornament, finished in rose gold.
On the inside, the new Rolls Royce Boat Tail features a Cognac and Oyster-coloured interior with a Royal Walnut veneer that gets Rose Gold and Mother-of-Pearl accents. The transmission tunnel has the same finish as the rear deck. In the centre of the Boat Tail, there is a timepiece finished in Mother-of-Pearl, provided by the owner itself.
