German luxury car manufacturer: Mercedes Benz has just launched the AMG E53 4MATIC+ and the AMG E63S 4MATIC+ in India at Rs. 1.02 crores and Rs. 1.71 crores, respectively. Mercedes-Benz India have announced that they will introduce 15 new products in the Indian market in 2021 and while a few have already arrived, next in line are a pair of performance sedans.
PERFORMANCE
Under the hood, the E63S 4MATIC+ is a proper beast with an engine that provides 600bhp and 850 Nm of torque. The unit is a 4.0-liter V8 petrol engine, assisted only by a pair of turbochargers that converts the atmosphere into more power. On the other hand, the E53 4MATIC+ gets a 450bhp 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged in-line six-cylinder petrol engine, assisted by a 48V mild-hybrid system called ‘EQ Boost’ that doubles up as a starter-generator motor with 22 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Both the cars have a 9-speed automatic gearbox. Mercedes claims the AMG E63s can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds, while the AMG E53 can climb from 0-100km/h in just 4.4 seconds.
LOOKS
Visually, both cars have some things in common such as the signature Panamericana grille with vertical chrome slats, a sporty bumper, and large intakes with LED daytime running lamps. At the rear, both models feature LED taillamps, a quad exhaust system, and a black diffuser and both sit on a pair of 19-inch alloy wheels, with an option for 20-inch wheels.
INTERIORS
Mercedes has done a great job with the new MBUX infotainment system and digital instrument display with AMG’s display. Also, the new twin-spoke AMG Performance steering wheel gets haptic feedback controls and both cars are equipped with AMG Dynamic Select, which enables you to choose from five different driving modes and alter various characteristics of the vehicle (the E63S also has drift mode, which could be incredible to try). In addition to these, they are packed with a Burmester 3D surround sound system, 64-colour ambient lighting, an optional 360-degree camera and an optional AMG night package.

The AMG E53 4MATIC+ meanwhile offers an AMG-enhanced 3.0L inline-6 turbo engine with EQ Boost and EQ Boost integrated starter-generator, nanoslide cylinder wall technology, and almost everything else that the E63 S 4MATIC+ provides.
These features that are packed into both the cars are luxurious and keep the cars uber sporty!
COMPETITORS
The top rival of the AMG E63 S 4MATIC+ is the BMW X5 Competition in India. The AMG E53 has no competition yet.
