Honda City e:HEV has finally been launched in India, three weeks after it was announced. The electric hybrid sedan will come in a single variant. It will be the first in its segment to feature Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that’s been dubbed Honda Sensing. Along with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, it will also get two electric motors.

The price for the ZX trim of the Honda City e:HEV has been set at Rs. 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Alongside, the new hybrid sedan will get 3-years unlimited kilometres warranty as standard, with the option to extend it to up to five years. The li-ion battery pack gets an 8-year, 1.6 lakh kms warranty, whichever comes first.

As you already know, the City e:HEV gets a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine with two electric motors. The hybrid system develops a total power output of 126hp and 253Nm of torque. Honda claims that the hybrid City will return a fuel efficiency figure of 26.5kmph.

Cosmetically, the hybrid City is quite similar to the regular City. But it gets blue accents for the Honda badge that signify its environmentally friendly credentials. Also, it gets a new rear diffuser, new trunk lip spoiler, and new fog lamp housing design. Inside, Honda has given the City a new dual-tone Ivory and Black leather interior.

The main highlight of the Honda City e:HEV is the Honda Sensing feature. It is basically ADAS and uses a wide-angle camera at the front to prevent or mitigate collisions. Additionally, it also gets Adaptive Cruise Control, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), and Auto High-Beam.
