BMW has relaunched the F 850 GS and F 850 GS Adventure in India. The two middleweight adventure motorcycles will be brought in the country as complete built units (CBUs) and deliveries begin in June. BMW F 850 GS and BMW F 850 GS Adventure are available in their respective Pro variants and will come in iconic Style Rallye and Style Triple Black packages.
As for the pricing, BMW F 850 GS and F 850 GS Adventure are priced Rs. 12.50 lakh and Rs. 13.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The return of the 850cc dual-sport motorcycles from BMW Motorrad feature the iconic design language of the BMW GS series but get new paint schemes. The regular F 850 GS gets a Racing Blue with golden rims, while the F 850 GS Adventure comes in Racing Blue and Kalamata metallic paint schemes.
They are powered by the same 853cc twin-cylinder petrol engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine pumps out a healthy 95hp and 92Nm of torque. Both motorcycles get chunky off-road compliant tyres and the Adventure model is claimed to be better for long trips and demanding terrain as it gets a larger fuel tank and few other goodies.
In terms of equipment, BMW F 850 GS and F 850 GS Adventure get a 6.5-inch TFT display, BMW Motorrad Connected app, four riding modes, dynamic ESA, BMW Motorrad ABS, automatic stability control, keyless ride, LED lights, gear shift assist pro, dynamic traction control, comfort seat, heated grips, and cruise control. In addition, the Adventure model gets knuckle guards, widened enduro footrests, and an adjustable gear lever.
BMW F 850 GS range will compete with the likes of the Triumph Tiger 900 series and the Honda Africa Twin series. With competitive pricing and a 3-year, unlimited kilometres warranty, the new BMW Motorrad dual-sport motorcycles under the competition by a good margin.
